Determined to make 2022 ‘The Summer of Fun’ – Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival is back and this is the flagship event, the star studded Gala Show! It’s like a whole series of Live At The Apollo in one night, and we are delighted to announce this year’s line-up…

MC DAN NIGHTINGALE
Described by Edinburgh Festival’s Three Weeks magazine as ‘magnetic, entertaining and wonderfully friendly’, Dan is widely regarded as one of the best performers working on the comedy circuit today. Mixing fiendishly accurate observation with energetic characterisations and killer punch lines, his comedy is original, playful, intelligent, poignant and exciting; sometimes ridiculous… but always hilarious. Named Best MC at the UK Comedy Awards 2015, he will be introducing headline acts Flo & Joan, Steve Royle, Gary Delaney, Seann Walsh and Paul Sinha.   

STEVE ROYLE A finalist on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent 2020, Steve is a fantastic comedian, actor, writer, juggler, and a Gillard award-winning presenter on BBC Radio. Steve is a headline act at The Comedy Store in London and Manchester, as well as a regular on the UK’s huge comedy circuit.  

GARY DELANEY Gary is the only comic ever to have got two gags in the same top 10 for Dave’s TV Funniest Jokes from the Edinburgh Fringe.  He’s the premier gag smith of his generation and through twitter he’s become one of the most followed and quoted comedians in the country whilst his online videos have been watched in excess of 100 million times.   “I laughed and I laughed and I laughed…” The Times  

FLO & JOAN Musical comedy sisters Flo & Joan present a brand-new set of dark, witty songs. As heard on Radio 4’s Fresh From the Fringe and from their viral hit song The 2016 Song which received over 50 million views online. Amused Moose Comedy Award 2016 finalists. SEANN WALSH
Described by The Independent as ‘one of the most entertaining observational comics on the block’, Edinburgh Award nominated Seann Walsh received standing ovations at the end of each show on his last UK tour. He has hosted Flinch on Netflix, starred on Live At The Apollo, Tonight at The London Palladium, Celebrity Juice, Play To The Whistle, Virtually Famous, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Chatty Man, Stand Up Central, Strictly Come Dancing and is a regular guest on The Jonathan Ross Show. 

PAUL SINHA Whilst studying medicine in the 1990s, Paul took his first steps on the stand-up comedy circuit, and after being nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2006, Paul hung up his stethoscope to become a full-time comedian. Since then he’s appeared on Just A Minute and The News Quiz (Radio4), Fighting Talk (5Live) QI and Would I Lie to You? (BBC) and as a competitor on Dave’s Taskmaster. A lifetime of curiosity and learning informs Paul’s comedy but now also ranks him as one of the UK’s finest quizzers.
